Prototyping an educational E-game

We have been working with the Abertay University’s School of Design and Informatics, who provided a team of students to prototype an educational e-game on sustainable fisheries. This process brings together students with a diverse set of skills, from coding to visual art and sound engineering, to collaborate in delivering their ‘Professional Project Module’. In this, we have acted as their ‘clients’, providing a brief and feedback in the iterative process of game design.

As well as producing a prototype game this has also been a useful learning experience in the process of games development and the considerable opportunity it presents in public engagement and influence on issues of sustainability. It is also worth noting that our student team highlighted their own learning and insights on seafood issues from working on it.
