POP article published in Marine Biological Association magazine

Earlier this summer, POP’s Chris Leakey, wrote an article for the Summer edition of the online Marine Biological Association (MBA) magazine. The article titledConnecting head, heart, and hands for impact in the UN Ocean Decade introduced People Ocean Planet to readers and explores how behavioural change is needed at all levels of society to address the climate and biodiversity crises.

As well as introducing POP’s aims, Chris outlines how knowledge about the oceans can shift attitudes and empower people to take action about matters they care about. As Chris writes “motivate, socialize, and ease the change” from knowledge to action is key to growing communities who are willing to take action and vocalise about the issues facing our oceans.

The article has been made freely available to enable those who are not members of the MBA allowing it to be read by all.
